A second journal update within 24h? It's more likely than you'd think, and less wishful than you'd hope. Anyway, I've been nominated for the Dutch Manga Awards! What the hell this is? It's the most prestigious and only award for manga artists in the Netherlands. Read more about it here:
[link]The manga by me that has been nominated is my Initial D fan manga
Initial D Euro Stage for my doujinshi group #
cheesecakestudio. I made this fan manga because one of my favourite Japanese bands
m.o.v.e [link], well known for their opening themes for Initial D, were performing at the Animecon 2012 in the Netherlands. It was something very special for me, since they helped me through my middle-school 20~30 min. school runs on my bicycle, listing to their energetic and upbeat music.
This is one page of the manga that has been nominated. In total it was about 20 pages or so. I can't remember exactly any more...
It isn't the first time I'm nominated for these awards, since I was nominated last year as well, but this time it's a bit more serious. Last years' nomination was a bit... Well, let's say I wasn't particularly proud of it.
This time I have a bit more hope of winning, but looking at the other nominees, it's going to be a very tough one. Very tough indeed...
